Object Description
Circa 1890. Stylish and elegant hand painted satinwood chair in Adam style, the wonderful oval back with a painted oval panel of a lady in the center after ‘Angelica Kauffman’, supported on a series of curved and painted sections forming a petal, the curvaceous arms with flower heads painted on the end and on the facings supported on the uprights, with Bergere seat in excellent condition, the serpentine seat rail painted on the front and sides, the back legs are slightly out swept and hand-painted, the front legs are turned ring turned with flowers on the top with painted entwined foliate on the legs finishing on an extended toe.
