Object Description
This antique floral rug was Hand-woven and Hand-Dyed using traditional vegetable dye techniques in Karabagh. Using only the highest quality wool and cotton this flat-weave rug has blue, orange, grey, white, pink and red colours in a floral pattern across the rug Contrasting against the deep brown/ black background. This large Kilim rug would stand out as a kitchen rug or a bedroom rug. Handwoven Kilim of the Karabagh (literally “black garden”), a region of the Caucasus where carpets and Kilim are knotted under the influence of the traditions, starting in the 18th century, the design of these Patterned rugs also draws inspiration from the decorative motifs from the western world.
