Object Description
A fine pair of Chester hallmarked George V sterling silver sauce boats which have oval shaped plain bodies, leaf capped scroll handles, good pouring spouts and each resting on three hoof style feet. These silver sauce boats have been made to an extremely high standard and remain in excellent condition. One sauce boat has the maker’s mark of “Stokes & Ireland” and the other one has the maker’s mark of “S. Blanckensee & Son” who took over the Stokes & Ireland business. They also display the shop mark of Lowe of Chester where they were originally sold. These silver sauce boats would look impressive when displayed on the table and would be practical to use.
