Object Description

A highly decorative late 18th/early 19th century French Empire mahogany and marble gueridon table of small proportions.

This table consists of a Black fossil marble top in very good condition leading down to a finely figured veneered mahogany frieze with three ormolu laurel wreath mounts, these positioned above each of the eagle heads of the base.

This leads down to the unusual tri-form base consisting of three superbly carved and painted legs, finished to resemble bronze, these comprising of eagle heads to the top, feather and leaf carved decoration with a tri-form mahogany support below and carved floral paterae terminating with three hairy paw feet of bold proportion.

This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
