Object Description

A fine Holy Land terracotta amphoriskos, decorated with a net pattern painted in red slip. The vessel sits on a flattened base, and features a globular body leading to a cylindrical neck and an everted rim. Two small pierced lugs have been applied to the shoulders, at the base of the neck. The body has been enriched with a net pattern painted in red pigment, composed of intersecting diagonal lines framed by multiple horizontal encircling bands above and below.

Date: Circa 3300-3100 BC

Object Condition

Fine condition. Earthly encrustations to the surface. Chips to the rim.
