Object Description
A Holy Land terracotta juglet set on a low ring foot with a low squatting body and a long vertical handle that begins at the widest part of the body and ends on the wide neck just below the everted rim. This is a very common thick walled jug-form used to store oils. During this period pottery finishing techniques improved: potters used a remarkable amount of red slip, applied by hand and smoothed with an irregular burnish.
