Object History

Collection of Caroline Gee of Hastings, Sussex.
Phillot studied at the Royal Academy Schools alongside her cousin William De Morgan and his future wife the artist Evelyn De Morgan. In 1889 she declared her support for women’s suffrage and joined the London Suffrage Society. She lived with her mother and sister in Hampstead for many years. Her subjects of her paintings are often based on mythology.

Object Condition

Excellent. It has recently been remounted and framed as now viewed.
