Object Description
Original oil painting by Paulo Ghiglia (1905–1979) This is a strong Italian portrait of a strong Italian woman. The artist had a long obsession with a famous stage and film actor of the 1950s called Isa Miranda and I want this to be her. It’s very close to so many drawings he executed of her, simply not identical enough. He painted many film stars of the day, even spending most of the 1960s in Hollywood. It could of course depict a sculptress, after all it may not be his studio she’s standing in.
