Object Description
Circa 1870 an exhibition quality Victorian burr walnut and inlaid freestanding sofa table. The top with quarter matching and burr walnut with amboyna cross banding, rounded foredge which has been ebonised. Two deep shaped drop flaps, held in place by foliate carved brackets to the front and back. The frieze with two drawers, each with a gilded and pierced brass key. The table stands on four ring turned and tapering reeded legs which rest on a platform base united by two elegant turned stretchers, all resting on four squat burr walnut and inlaid sabre legs, finishing with a well-shaped curled toe, with brass brown porcelain casters beneath.
