Object Description

A rare set of six Silver Hanoverian Pattern Tablespoons made circa 1770 by Robert Anderson of Inverness.
The spoons bear the crest of Lewis Grant of Dallachapple (Scottish Highlands) who was Adjutant of The Royal Hospital Chelsea from circa 1761 to his death in 1791.
There is a gravestone dedicated to him at the Hospital and his wife who predeceased him. The spoons are all in good condition with one spoon having a small old repair which is not very noticeable to the back of the bowl. A rare set of spoons with a fine provenance.
