This wonderful console tabletop was crafted in Italy during the Baroque period. It is crafted from scagliola, a substance made from a combination of plaster and glue that was popular during the Baroque era.
Filling the black background is a plethora of birds, foliage and even playing cards or tokens. The playful design which combines the natural and man-made world is superbly executed highlighting the beauty of Italian art.
The tabletop is particularly fitting for a console table and its dramatic design would be a superb addition to one’s interior.
