Jerome Massier Fils Majolica Dog Figural Vase

Object Description

Jerome Massier Fils French Majolica vase figural which features a hunting dog stood in front of a tree trunk. Colouration: green, brown, cream, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the Jerome Massier Fils pottery. Also signed, ‘Pierre Perret Vallauris (A.M)’. Pierre Perret was the artist who designed the piece. Book reference ,’Barbotines de la Côte d’Azur’ by Marsee Bottero, page 110, figure 6.

Object Condition

Good. Some small flakes to the rim of the vase. Small flakes to the dog’s paws. Flake to the base. Wear and abrasions to the interior of the vase, from use. RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairlines to the dog’s front left and rear left ankles.
