Object Description
A stunning and fine pair Doulton Lambeth Impasto daisy painted vases by renowned Faience artist Kate Rogers and dated 1885.
The stoneware vases are of tall bulbous shape standing raised on inverted bowl shaped bases with a tall tapering bulbous shaped body with tall slender necks with wide shaped raised rims. The vases are hand painted in thickly applied colored enamels in naturalistic style and color with tall large flowering daisies on leafy stems on a chocolate brown ground with contrasting brown glazes applied to the top rims and bases. The vases have impressed Doulton Lambeth Impasto marks to the bases and appear to be numbered 947 along with large incised monograms for Kate Rogers with further unidentified assistant marks.
