Kent Staffordshire John Locke bust

Object Description

Staffordshire bust with a political theme which features John Locke, resting on a marbleised base. Decorated ‘in the round’ – decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside. This piece represents the English philosopher and physician.

Object Condition

Good. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the underside. RESTORATION. Filled chips and flakes to base edge. Retouched paint losses to toga and hair.
