Object Description
18th century George III period mahogany antique writing table. This is a wonderfully large scale writing table with two large slides, or reading slopes, which extend from each size to make it even larger. This writing table stands on elegant square legs with a generous chamfer on the inside corner which gives the effect of making the leg look a lot lighter without compromising the strength.
There is a nicely restrained decorative corner of pierced lattice work at the top of the legs. This writing table is freestanding with drawers both sides and it has a top which is usefully a little higher than normal.
