This lovely quality piece of antique furniture dates back to the late 18th century and is constructed from good quality, high grade. mahogany timber.
It is also exceptionally large compared to 99% of georgian cutlery trays which you will find available for sale. In fact it it so much larger than normal that it opens up the possibility of it being used for various other purposes, such as bottle storage, than just its original purpose of storing cutlery.
Cutlery trays were a common accessory of 18th and 19th century georgian homes, used for the storage and transportation of often valuable utensils.
