Object Description
A large antique English carved oak fire surround dating to around 1860, utilising earlier, possibly 16th and 17th century parts. This fire surround was reclaimed from a property in Malvern, Worcestershire.
Ornately carved, this antique oak fireplace has a beautiful rich wood colour that will make a handsome feature of traditional country cottages and period style townhouses alike. The frieze is most decorative, carved with corbels, foliage and masks of winged putti, paired with elaborately carved column-style jambs, and large scrolls around the opening.
Beautifully crafted, it is a fireplace of fine carving and handsome solid oak to suit many a property.
