This nef, made of silvered metal, takes the form of a galleon. A nef is a table ornament, usually made of precious metal such as silver, that takes the shape of a ship. This nef has two masts and numerous rectangular and triangular sails, all of silvered sheet metal. The body of the ship, which stands on wheels, holds a front and rear gallery. The decks throughout are populated with figures and cannons, all made of silvered metal. The silvered metal is decorated throughout with low relief scenes and mounted silver ornaments, such as the beak on the prow of the hull.
