Object Description
A large antique stained glass window of a crest depicting a stag in a wreath. Dating to circa 1900, this large panel exhibits vibrant handprinted colours. Pale green oval domes sit on top of the clear textured background.
The vivid imagery of this stained glass panel make it quite the striking statement piece. It would certainly look beautiful flooded with daylight in the main room of a property or church.
The stag has been depicted in Christian art as a symbol of Christ’s purity and resurrection, presented on stained glass for centuries.
Text reading ‘Nec’, ‘Aestv Nec’, and ‘astv’ sits in a scroll at the bottom of the panel. ‘Nec’ is the latin word for ‘and not’, but it is unclear what ‘aestv’ and ‘astv’ translate to.
