Large Bronze Wall Fountain of an Angel

Object Description

A large bronze wall fountain depicting an angel. This unusual and striking water feature is inscribed ‘sed aqua quam dabo ei fiet in eo fons aquae salients in vitam aeturnum’. The translation reads ‘but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a fountain of water into eternal life’ – from the book of John 4:13-14.

You can just imagine this impressive water fountain as a centrepiece in a tranquil garden, flowing with water ready for people to enjoy while reading their own book in the relaxing space.

Its large scale angel is nicely modelled, sitting cross legged reading a book, while her face shows a calming expression in solid bronze with a weathered finish, and the text lies underneath.

Object Condition

Good structural condition. Transports as 3 pieces. An even patina. No visible damage. It will require a bracket at the top. The fountain element flows over the text, then the scalloped edge into a larger pool underneath and will recirculate. No pipe or pump included. Unsigned.
