Object Description
An elegant and finely woven 19th century Tabriz attributed to Hadji Jalili with an understated monochrome drawing and harmonious vegetable dyed colour combination of tan, ivory, olive green and grey. The beautiful main border is particular, framed each side by over eight inner borders that are still present on all sides.
This early Tabriz carpet is in very well preserved condition for every day use with minimal sign of age related wear. All the original inner and plain borders are still present on all sides. A rare feature for a rug of this age.
A sophisticated rug with a discreet elegance to blend in a contemporary or classic room. Not common in this large format.
