Large Chinese jade, agate and nephrite model of poppies in cloisonné enamel pot

This large flower model is crafted from several high quality materials and depicts a luscious composition of poppies in an ornate planter.
The planter is adorned with cloisonné enamel decoration in the form of flowers and scrolls. A polychrome colour palette has been employed creating a vibrant composition. The base and lip of the pot are gilded, framing the complex cloisonné enamel detailing.
Extending from the planter are a number of metal, wire-covered branches. All are surrounded by a plethora of prominent deep green jade leaves extending outwards. Above these is a selection of hardstone poppies carved from hardstones such as agate, nephrite, and rose quartz. Their turquoise stigmas are framed by bright yellow and red beads.
Of a superb design, this flower model is a desirable addition to one’s collection of Chinese sculptures.
