Object Description
Circa 1860. An early Victorian carved rosewood center stool of generous
proportions, the top with wonderful wool work embroidery of roses on a black
velvet background with piping, the shaped frieze which includes short C and
extended S scrolls to the corners, resting on four wonderful cabriole legs
with C scrolls on the tops and sides and profusely carved knees with foliate
carving beneath, finishing on a well-curled foot with foliate carving on the
facing, with excellent colour and patination.
