Large Egyptian Steatite Cowroid with Floral Pattern

Object Description

A large, Egyptian, steatite cowroid, featuring a domed obverse and a decorated reverse. A boxed, incised border decorates the edge of the obverse. The reverse has also been decorated with an intricate incised floral motif. The cowroid has been pierced longitudinally for suspension.

Date: Circa 1750 – 1070 BC
Period: Second Intermediate Period – New Kingdom

Excellent condition. Very fine reverse pattern and a large example.
