Object Description
A large in proportion and truly impressive Empire walnut armoire or wardrobe, fitted with two large doors surmounted by a moulded rectangular cornice with a frieze. The figure of the solid walnut lends it its distinct and bold look. The doors flanked by columns with giltwood capitals and bases. Bone escutcheons surround the keyhole. Three fixed shelves can be found inside that are concealed behind the lockable doors. The whole resting on on rectangular feet, circa 1810.
