Large George Jones Majolica Banana Leaf Platter

Object Description

George Jones Majolica platter which features a banana leaf sitting on a branch-like base. Colouration: green, brown, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the George Jones pottery. Bears a pattern number, ‘1798’.

Object Condition

Good. Very slight wear to the centre. Slight wear on the rim in places. KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to the centre. RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to the rim. Filled chip to the rim. Retouched wear in places.
