Large Holdcroft Majolica Stork Stick Stand

Object Description

Holdcroft Majolica stick or umbrella stand which features a stork stood beside bulrushes, with a snake in its beak. Coloration: green, white, brown, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the Holdcroft Pottery.

Object Condition

Generally good. Small flake to top of beak. Some small flakes to leaves on ground. KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing. RESTORATION. Filled chip to end of beak. Some leaves to rim reglued and joins retouched. Section of leaves with professional repair.
