Russian, mid-19th Century

This impressive 19th-century plate is an artefact of Russian Imperial history.
Of circular form with a cream ground predominating, the centre is painted with the star of the Imperial Order of Saint Alexander Nevsky, an order of chivalry of the Russian Empire awarding citizens for political or military service. With its interesting history, this plate would be sure to add a touch of imperial elegance to any table.
