Object Description
Early Kashan carpets are highly appreciated for the classical precision of their drawings and the fineness of their weaves. The city of Kashan was the centre of fine rug weaving during the 16th century Safavid period and some of the best workshop pieces are attributed to it.
An understated Kashan Carpet of the early 20th century with a subtle green colour background and monochrome overall drawing. An attractive feature is that colours of the central field and the main borders are the same rather than contrasting ones usually seen in the other examples.
This Kashan is in very well condition for every day use, sill retaining its original borders and fringes on all sides.
A stylish example with a discreet elegance to blend in a wide variety of interior style.
