Object Description
Circa 1880, late Victorian mahogany partners desk. The rectangular top with fine quality Spanish mahogany banding and moulded edges, above 3 moulded-front frieze drawers with quarter-cut oak liners and cast brass swing handles; over banks of 3 conforming drawers flanked by fluted pilasters. The sides of the desk with mahogany fielded panels and unusual pull-out writing slides with brass handles. The converse of the desk with a full set of 9 matching drawers. All supported on twin enclosed plinth bases with hidden brass castors beneath.
