Object Description
A large mid century leather Suitcase.
The case is light weight but well made with leather reinforcing the corners and edges. It has two Secure Lever locks to the front, with keys on a string inside a leather cover, as well as a central brass catch and a catch to each side for strength. The base has a stud foot to each corner and one to the middle to slightly raise the case off the ground. The case also originally had four stud feet to the back but two have come off through use.
The case has a comfortable swing handle. When opened, the lid is held up by a stay arm to each side. The interior is lined with two elasticated, pleated pockets to the inside of the lid.
This is a good sized suitcase and would be useful for the storage of winter jumpers etc. Mid 20th Century.
