Large Majolica game pitcher with pewter lid

Object Description

Majolica jug/pitcher with lid which features hanging game, leaf and flower decoration. Brown ground version. Colouration: green, brown, yellow, are predominant. Book reference not found.

Object Condition

Good. No restoration. A few small flakes to the exterior and handle. Some wear to the handle, interior, exterior and lid. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to a couple of the birds and one of the flowers; running to some of the glazes; glaze misses to the handle and base rim.
