Object Description

A large and imposing pair of antique glazed green stoneware urns.

Dating from circa 1890, this beautifully preserved antique urns features an iridescent green lustre and striking gardrooned bodies complimented by beautiful loop handles.

The pedestals have a moulded stylised designs of foliage to the centre evoking neoclassical flair.

A pair that will stand out as the centrepiece in the garden or courtyard of a beautiful country estate. They could even be decorative features in an internal setting to add charm and grandeur.

Additional dimensions (each)

Pedestals: Height 57cm x Base 37.5cm2. Weight 55kg.

Urns: Height 48cm. Widest point across the handles is 53.5cm. Weight 35kg.

Object Condition

Good structural condition. Urns – minor chips, nibbles and surface wear. No visible breaks or repairs. Pedestals – minor chips and nibbles particularly to where the base of the urn sits. One pedestal has a small number of superficial firing cracks to the top.

FROM THE M50 / ROSS-ON-WYE

At the end of the M50, take the A40 towards Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. Take the A49 Hereford Road (third roundabout after leaving the M50). Ignore the first two signposts for Wormelow, stay on the A49 for approximately nine miles and take the next left turn after passing the Pilgrim Hotel, signed A466 Wormelow. Follow the road for approximately 400 meters. We are located halfway down the hill on the right-hand side. The site is called: Grove Farm / The Grove.

FROM A49 HEREFORD

Follow the A49 south from Hereford for approximately five miles. After the uphill section at the Callow, there is a layby on your right followed by one on your left. Take the next right turn onto the A466 signed Wormelow / Monmouth. Follow the road for approximately 400 meters. We are located halfway down the hill on the right-hand side. The site is called: Grove Farm / The Grove.
