Large Persian carpet with illustration from the Book of Esther

This rare Persian Kerman carpet depicts a scene from the Book of Esther: Esther and Haman are portrayed beside King Ahasuerus, the trio surrounded, above the salmon-coloured ground of the carpet, by other figures from the court. The entire composition is encompassed by a border comprised of camels and other fauna. The piece is a superb example of Persian Judaica.
