A late 18th century (circa 1800) mahogany oval Butler’s tray on stand with superb original patina.
This Butler’s tray consists of a four panelled mahogany tray with folding sides with brass hinges, each side with reeded edge and fret cut shaped carrying handles, the tray supported on original turned folding stand.
The Butler’s tray was originally used by the Butler to carry and serve food and drinks, the stand would be set up ready for the tray to be placed upon and the refreshments then served accordingly, today these trays can be used as side or occasional tables.
This Butler’s tray is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
