Object Description
A late 19th century Chinese hardwood pot stand or low table with shaped marble inset top.
This pot stand consists of a shaped Chinese pink marble top, this recessed into a hardwood top with carved ball decoration to the outer edge.
This leads down to a deep pierced moulding leading down to carved scrolling decoration with carved and pierced frieze of flowers and birds.
The stand is supported by four cabriole legs, the top of the legs having a carved dragon face with carved floral decoration to the knee leading down to ball and claw feet, the legs joined with a shaped stretcher.
This pot stand is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home – this is a very versatile piece and could be used as a stand, low table, coffee table etc.
