A late 19th century French carved giltwood fauteuil or open armchair of large proportions.
This chair consists of a carved top rail with ribbon design and carved circular decoration both to the top and uprights with an upholstered back.
This leads down to the padded arms with scrolling arm supports consisting of acanthus carved decoration with flutes below and upholstered seat.
The seat rail consists of circular carved decoration with turned tapered legs to the front with castors.
This chair is in good original condition, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home – the upholstery has not been updated by us but this can easily be changed once purchased, it is presently a deep pink and gold fabric in reasonable condition with a few blemishes.
