Object Description
A late 19th century (circa 1900) Japanese Meiji red lacquered table cabinet.
This table cabinet consists of a red lacquered ground with floral and foliate gold lacquered decoration to the top, front, side and back.
The two doors to the front, each with recessed panels consist of highly decorative red and gold lacquered designs of landscapes with exotic birds, floral and foliate decoration with decorative brass mounts, the butterfly clasp to the centre missing a wing, the doors opening to reveal five small drawers.
The table cabinet is supported on a red lacquered shaped stand with brass mounts.
This table cabinet is in good original condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home – ideal for jewellery or for your precious items.
