Object Description
A late 19th century (circa 1880) mahogany side table or side server by Edwards & Roberts of bold proportions.
This table consists of a solid mahogany top with carved gadroon moulded edge leading down to a frieze to the front and sides with blind fret design, a frieze drawer to the front with Edwards & Roberts stamp with moulded edge below.
The table is supported by four finely carved cabriole legs with acanthus scroll carving to the top terminating with carved paw feet.
Edwards & Roberts were formed in 1845 with premises at 21, Wardour Street, London where they traded until the end of the century. They became one of the leading cabinet makers and retailers in the city producing fine quality items of furniture.
This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
