Object Description
Poplar chest with rising, hinged, domed top, covered in thick hide/leather stamped in low relief with foliate design and classic motifs, the ground stamped with small circles, the details picked out with penwork (now faded), the sides with the original iron carrying handles, retaining the original iron hasp but with a replaced 18th century lock plate, the interior with old, blue on white block printed paper (scuffed and with losses).
