Object Description
Circa 1870. A Louis XIV style French lift top side table. The shaped top with wonderful marquetry panel in the centre, quarter matching veneers and banding of rococo style inlay, including boxwood, tulipwood, and coconut wood. The fore-edge with gilded brass, which is embossed, with further mounts on the sides. The top is hinged and opens to reveal and interior with gilded hinges, mirror matched walnut on the top and lift out four division section with satinwood and sycamore, with the base and interior lined with oak. To the front, a shaped stylish frieze with elegant rococo mounts, polished on all sides and standing on four elegant cabriole legs with rococo mounts on the top, beaded on the facings and finishing with elegant cast brass sabots.
