Louis XVI architectural gilt bronze and malachite clock

Crafted from ormolu and a later malachite veneer, this refined Louis XVI period mantel clock is designed in a Neoclassical architectural style. The clock features a circular white enamel dial with Roman numeral indices. The dial is surrounded by an ormolu border, from which hangs an Apollo sunburst pendulum. The clock is flanked by two malachite columns with Neoclassical ormolu mounts depicting palmettes and is supported by a rectangular base with four feet. The drum is surmounted by an elaborate ormolu cornucopia finial, flanked by a pair of pierced palmettes.
