Louis XVI period gilt bronze mounted malachite clock

This fine mantel clock was produced during the era of Louis XVI. The clock is crafted from malachite and gilt bronze, though the malachite veneer is a later addition. The clock features a shaped plinth-form case inset with a white enamel dial and mounted with gilt bronze elements. The case is flanked by two malachite pyramidal structures, both similarly decorated. The clock is raised on a shaped malachite base adorned with Neoclassical style gilt bronze mounts.
