Object Description
Excellent Louis XVI style marquetry tantalus, manufactured circa 1860, bearing the original label of Maison Hennon Bernassau à Nîmes: oblong in shape with a breakfront, veneered with bird’s-eye maple and other woods imitating fluting. The whole mounted with finely chased gilt bronze floral banding and gilt bronze beading, on disc feet. The decorative cabinet has a lift top door and swing side doors to allow for easier access to the interior, revealing a removable caddy with gilt bronze handle and mounts, fitted with 16 glass cordials and four carafes with cut-glass stoppers; each glass and decanter is embellished by floral and foliage etched decor. The bar essential is in excellent condition, complete, with original lock and key included.
