Object Description
This very nice pierced Continental silver and mother of pearl box was imported in 1902 and has Birmingham hallmarks stamped on one side of the box lip and to the opposite lip there are 2 foreign hallmarks, it measures 3 1/16 inches in length by 2 3/16 inches wide and is 5/8 inches deep. The lid of the box is well pierced with a scene of a lady and gent in period costume below trees and foliage below that is a sheet of mother of pearl that is lined into diamond shapes, the sides have a chevron design to the top and a rope design to the bottom with a band of engraving between and to the underside there is a lovely mother of pearl base, it is gilded to the interior and is in very good condition.
