Object Description

A Luristan dagger cast from bronze featuring a slender blade tapering to a point with a central, slightly raised midrib. The blade leads to an integral concave hilt which flares out at the base. The pommel has been pieced through the centre along with a second piercing on the hilt. The end of the pommel is enriched with six incised circles with a further circle and dots inside. The sides of the hilt are elevated indicating it would have once held inlays. The dagger has been professionally cleaned.

Date: Circa 1200-600 BC

Object Condition

Very fine condition, small chips to the blade and the hilt’s sides. Patination and encrustation to the surface.
