Object Description
A Lurstan finial cast from bronze featuring a quadruped animal, likely a deer or goat. The animal’s body faces right while the head is turned to look forward. The facial features are stylistically rendered with two large circular eyes, each pierced, two small ears and two large curving horns. The animal stands on a rectangular base with concave sides, a small perforation is visible at the centre. Below is a cylindrical fitting with an uneven end used for attachment. The piece has been mounted on a custom-made stand.
