Luristan Bronze Flat Axe

Object Description

A Luristan axe cast from bronze featuring a thin section and a rounded butt. The flat blade extends outwards towards the convex cutting edge with both of the pointed edges curved.

Date: Circa 1800-600 BC

Object History

Ex Abelita family collection, acquired 1980-2015.

Object Condition

Fine condition with green patination and earthly encrustations to the surface. Minor chips along the edges.
