Object Description

A Luristan bronze sword featuring a triangular blade with a raised midrib. The flanged hilt ends with a fanned pommel. The hilt’s edges extend upwards to have once encased inlays on both sides. Bright green patination and encrustation are visible to the surface.

Date: Circa 1200-600 BC

Object Condition

Good condition. The blade’s edges are worn and chipped which is consistent with the age. The handle of the sword also displays chipping along the edging. The sword has areas of a bright green patination and encrustation.
