Object Description

A very fine Luristan bronze sword featuring a triangular blade with a prominent midrib. Several fullers are visible to the blade, used to reduce the weight. Below is a crescent shaped guard leading to a cylindrical hilt. The hilt is decorated with horizontal ribs and the sword is finished with a spherical pommel. A small dome sits at the very end and is pierced at the centre. Rich green and golden patination covers the surface.

Date: 1200-600 BC

Object Condition

Very fine condition, minor repairs to the sword. Patination across the surface, the sword has been professionally cleaned.
